The suborbital flight profile reaches altitudes in excess of 90,000 feet and speeds of MACH 2.2 in both level and climbing flight regimes.
These profiles give Starfighters Aerospace the capability of a REUSABLE LAUNCHER PLATFORM for very cost effective launcher vehicles to set low weight payloads in lower orbit.
Our single seat F-104’s are capable of reaching 100,000 feet in less than four minutes with a 1500-pound payload. Upon reaching 80,000 feet the F-104 starts the ballistic flight path climb to 100,000 feet for lower orbit nano and pico satellites.
Two-seat F-104’s are also available with 1 pilot and 1 engineer or researcher in the back seat. The strategic position gives the scientist onboard the unique view of our Planet from the space, but above all allows them personal control of the entire mission.
The Lockheed F-104 has been extensively used by USAF and NASA for multiple testing purposes as well as advanced training platforms such as X-15 and astronaut training to replicate shuttle re-entry and landing profiles/trajectories.
